台湾帰国にあたって（1980年）
記者会見
1980年９月30日の記者会見でのインタビューを、英語で文字化しているHKships4TeresaTeng2さんの動画から、ここにその日本語訳（管理者による）を示します。
テレサ・テンは、彼女の家族、友人、台湾テレビ代表、マスメディアなど、30人以上の人に迎えられた。テレサ・テンは、放蕩な子供が母国に抱かれ迎えられたような気分だと言った。また、過去の「偽パスポート事件」についても後悔をしていた。テレサ・テンの暖かく包容力のある雰囲気は、皆に深い印象を与えた。

記者：テレサさん、あなたは１年以上海外にいらっしゃったわけですが、どんなふうに過ごされたのか、お話しいただけるでしょうか。
テレサ・テン：１年７か月海外にいて、昨年４月、今年の７月に、以前のカナダに加え、米国のニューヨーク・サンフランシスコ・ロサンゼルスでコンサートを開きました。さらに、日本と香港それぞれで発売するアルバムのレコーディングを行いました。それ以外の時間を使って、ロサンゼルスの（南カリフォルニア）大学へ入学し、数科目の勉強をしました。
記：テレサさんの歌が、大陸中国の「鉄の壁」を越えたと知って、どう感じましたか。
テ：この知らせを聞いたとき、非常に…とても複雑で…とても嬉しく感じて、そして私の歌が大陸の人々に元気と慰めとを与えうると思いました。と言いますのは、大陸の歌はこれまで統制され、人々が耳にする歌詞は決まり切ったもののみでした。私の歌が聴けることは、とても嬉しいです。
記：これから先の予定をお聞かせいただけますか。
テ：今後の予定というと…今週は国立国父紀念館でコンサートを行います。チャリティーコンサートです。その後には、香港で何度かコンサートを行い、それから東南アジアに行きます。
記：聞いたところによると、多くの映画関係からいくつかの映画の主演依頼があるようですが、映画出演の予定はありますか。
テ：その件については、まだ考えているところです。様々なこと、監督とか脚本とかギャラといったことなど、議論すべきことがいろいろとあり、検討中だからです。条件がある程度満足できるものなら、十分可能性もあります。

Welcoming her home were her family, friends Taiwan TVs Program Manager, and mass media representatives of over 30 people. TT said she felt like a prodigal child back to the embrace of the mother country, and was extremely excited. She also regretted “Bogus Passport Incident" in the past. Her warm and comforting aura left a deep impression on everybody.

Reporter:TT, you have been abroad for over a year. Tell us a bit of how you are doing.
TT:I’ve been abroad for one year and seven months… In April, last year and July, this year, I had held concerts in New York City, San Francisco, and Los Angeles in the U.S., in addition to Canada. Besides, making recording for albums releases in Japan and Hong Kong. The rest of the time, I attended a school (University of Southern California) in Los Angeles to learn a few things, to study.
Reporter: When you realized your songs had penetrated the Iron Curtain of mainland China, how did you feel?
TT: When I heard of this news, I felt.. a lot of.. very complicated.. very happy.. and.. my singing could provide the mainlanders a bit of nurturing and comfort.. .. because their songs have been regimented and the lyrics they listen to are like formulae. I’m very happy for them to be able to listen to my singing.
Reporter: Could you tell us your future plan?
TT: My future plan…. this week. I am going to hold a Concert at Sun Yat-San Memorial Hall in Taipei. It is a charity concert. After that, I will hold her concerts in Hong Kong. Then I will go to Southeast Asia.
Reporter: I have heard that a lot of movie companies have invited you to star in some movies. Is there a possibility for you to become a movie star?
TT: I am still thinking about this matter. Of course. There are many different concerns to iron out, such as directors, scripts, monetary rewards. If the conditions are relatively satisfactory, there is a good possibility.
